Xu Chongyu, doctoral supervisor. Male, Professor, Department of Earth Sciences, University of Oslo, Norway, overseas accreditation expert of Chinese Academy of Sciences, researcher and doctoral supervisor of Nanjing Institute of geography and lakes, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Major and research direction: global climate change and water resources response, hydrological simulation in different climate regions and different time and space scales. Xu Chongyu has long been engaged in global climate change and water resources response, hydrological simulation research in different climate regions and different time and space scales. In 1993, he won the World Meteorological Organization Outstanding Young Scientist Award and became the first Chinese scientist to win this honor. The water balance models of different climate regions and time-space scales established by him have been applied to hundreds of research basins in many countries in the world. Among them, he has been used as an effective tool for water resources census under climate change scenarios in Denmark, northern Belgium and central Sweden In recent years, more than 60 international academic papers have been published, of which nearly 30 have been included by SCI, among which 20 are the first authors. The applicant has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in the Department of Earth Sciences of Uppsala University in Sweden and Oslo University in Norway for many years. In 2000, he was invited to serve as an overseas accreditation expert of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Long term cooperation with National Climate Center of China Meteorological Administration, Institute of Geographical Sciences and resources of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing Institute of geography and lakes of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Department of hydrology and water resources of Wuhan University, School of water resources and environment of Hohai University, Department of city and resources of Nanjing University, Department of geography and resource management of Chinese University of Hong Kong, etc Lectures on "hydrological analysis and modeling", "Water Resources Engineering", "hydrological model", "water ecological resources management", "climate change and its impact on water resources" were given to doctoral and master students in the Department of hydrology and water resources of Wuhan University and the Department of city and resources of Nanjing University.

Research direction

Major and research direction: global climate change and water resources response, hydrological simulation in different climate regions and different time and space scales. The applicant has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in the Department of Earth Sciences of Uppsala University in Sweden and Oslo University in Norway for many years. In 2000, he was invited to serve as an overseas accreditation expert of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Long term cooperation with National Climate Center of China Meteorological Administration, Institute of Geographical Sciences and resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing Institute of geography and lakes, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Department of hydrology and water resources, Wuhan University, School of water resources and environment, Hohai University, Department of city and resources, Nanjing University, The Department of geography and resource management of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and other universities and research institutions carry out different forms of cooperative research In the Department of hydrology and water resources of Wuhan University and the Department of city and resources of Nanjing University, we give lectures on "hydrological analysis and modeling", "Water Resources Engineering", "hydrological model", "water ecological resources management", "climate change and its impact on water resources" to doctoral and master students. In 2000, he was invited to serve as an overseas accreditation expert of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. We will focus on the impact of climate change on hydrology and water resources in the Yangtze River Basin in cooperation with Nanjing Institute of geography and lakes, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Aiming at the scientific problems of climate change and water cycle in the Yangtze River Basin, we analyzed and estimated the trend of evaporation capacity and actual evaporation in the Yangtze River basin with Nanjing Institute of geography and lakes, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It was found that the evaporation in the Yangtze River Basin showed a continuous downward trend in the past 30 years, which was caused by the continuous weakening of near surface wind and the increase of cloud cover It is caused by the decrease of sunshine hours.

Main achievements

Xu Chongyu has long been engaged in global climate change and water resources response, hydrological simulation research in different climate regions and different time and space scales. In 1993, he won the WMO Outstanding Young Scientist Award and became the first Chinese scientist to receive this honor The established water balance models of different climate regions and time-space scales have been applied to hundreds of research basins in many countries of the world. Among them, they have been applied as an effective tool for water resources census under climate change scenarios in Denmark, northern Belgium and central Sweden, and achieved good results, Among them, the first author has 20 articles.
