Initiated by a team of experts from Hohai University, the Taihu Lake Water Conservancy and Hydropower Development Company of Taihu Basin Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources, Jiangsu Water Resources Company of South-to-North Water Transfer under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Jiangsu Province, and Nanjing Gulou Technology Innovation Investment Development Co., Ltd. are shareholders to jointly establish Jiangsu Yuzhi River Basin Management Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. has a registered capital of RMB 10 million. As the operating entity of Yuzhi Research Institute, it undertakes the daily management and operation of the research institute.

Yuzhi Research Institute relies on the two national scientific research platforms of Hohai University, "State Key Laboratory of Hydrology, Water Resources and Hydraulic Sciences" and "National Engineering Research Center for Efficient Utilization of Water Resources and Engineering Safety", based on smart water management and closely integrated with national water resources.
